Bend woman, 36, injured in rollover crash on ice south of Maupin.

A 36-year-old Bend woman was seriously injured Wednesday in a rollover crash in icy conditions on Highway 197 south of Maupin.

A 36-year-old Bend woman was seriously injured Wednesday in a rollover crash in icy conditions on Highway 197 south of Maupin.

The accident happened right before 8 a.m. near milepost 40, according to Oregon State Police. They said Lanette L. Keller was driving a 2002 Ford pickup north on Highway 197 when she tried to pass another vehicle and lost control on black ice. The pickup slid toward the shoulder and rolled several times though a fence. The pickup came to rest on the hood, with Keller trapped inside.

She was extricated about an hour later and transported by air ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. She was using safety restraints, OSP said.

OSP is continuing to investigate.
