Crash sends truck dangling over bridge rail

An Oregon State Police spokesman says a truck driver has been cited after a commercial truck hauling lumber products crashed at an Umpqua River bridge in southern Oregon, leaving the truck and trailer hanging over the bridge railing above the waterway.

Truck driver cited in Scottsburg Bridge crash

The driver of a commercial truck that crashed on the Scottsburg Bridge on Oregon 38 Thursday morning was cited for carless driving and failure to drive within a lane.

The truck and trailer were left hanging over the bridge railing above the waterway after the crash. The load the truck was carrying spilled over the railing, and an estimated 100 gallons of diesel leaked into the river. Sheridan was cited for careless driving and failing to drive within a lane, and was then taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
