A Minersville man died in a motorcycle accident Monday in Berks County, and his passenger is in serious condition, state police at Reading reported Tuesday.

Daniel Joseph Leffew, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 11:56 p.m. in the 7300 block of Bernville Road in Jefferson Township, police said.

The passenger, Tracy Carter, 31, also of Minersville, was taken to Reading Hospital, and police said she was in serious condition.

Christopher Brooks, 18, critically injured, transported to hospital, after he is struck by a pickup, that fled the scene, while riding his bicycle at the intersection of Chester Pike and Sellers Avenue in Ridley Park.

An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a motorist who fled the scene in Delaware County.

It happened at 10:50 p.m. Monday on Chester Pike at Sellers Avenue in Ridley Park.

Police say 18-year-old Christopher Brooks of Crum Creek Drive in Woodlyn was either riding his bicycle or walking it across an intersection when he was struck by a gray or silver pickup truck.

Brooks was not wearing a helmet and suffered head injuries and a broken leg.

A 75-YEAR-OLD man was mere steps from a Rhawnhurst senior center on his way to watch his wife's dance recital Saturday night when he tried to cross a busy stretch of Bustleton Avenue - but police say he never made it.

Police say a man was struck by a pickup truck and killed in the Rhawhurst section of the city.

It happened around 9:00 Saturday night on the 8100 block of Bustleton Avenue at Stanwood Street.

The male victim was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There was no immediate word on his identity.

Police say the driver of a silver Ford pickup truck did stop at the scene.

There was no word on if any charges would be filed.

Ralph Brookens, 60, killed, after his motorcycle, traveling at high speed, crashes on Craley Road in Lower Windsor Township.

Police say speed was a factor in a fatal motorcycle crash at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday in the 2700 block of Craley Road in Lower Windsor Township, York County.

Investigators say the accident claimed the life of 60-year-old Ralph Brookens of Wrightsville.

The York County Deputy Coroner, says, Brookens was traveling at a high rate of speed when his motorcycle went off the road.

Brookens died in the ambulance en route to the hospital, according to Goodfellow.

A motorist is dead following a collision involving a taxi cab in the Philadelphia's Olney section early Friday morning.

The accident happened around 1:40 a.m. on the 7100 block of Old York Road.

A witness stated that a vehicle was attempting to make a turn when it was struck broadside by a taxi cab.

Police say both drivers were taken to Einstein Medical Center.

The cab driver, believed to be in his 40s, suffered head, back and chest injuries.

85-year-old man killed, after his car and a cement truck, driven by a 52-year-old man, collide at the intersection of Edgely Road and Goldenridge Drive in Levittown.

A man was killed when the car he was in collided with a cement mixer truck in Levittown, Bucks County Thursday morning.

The crash happened at 8:52 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Edgely Road and Goldenridge Drive.

According to investigators, the cement mixer was traveling south on Edgely Road and the Buick was traveling east on Goldenridge Drive.

Four people, three of them teenagers, died in what the Armstrong County coroner is calling a "horrific" head-on crash overnight.

State police said the two-vehicle crash happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday on Route 156 in South Bend Township.

"My 30 years with the fire department and emergency services, it's probably one of the worst crashes I've seen," Sheriff Bill Rupert said. "The debris field was scattered for quite a distance."

In Lancaster County, one woman is dead and another remains hospitalized after a crash in Rapho Township.

Police say an SUV and car crashed head-on Wednesday in the 1300 block of Auction Road.

The driver of the SUV, Bonnie Miller, of Columbia, died at the scene.

The other driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

23 students from the Reading-Muhlenberg Vocational-Technical School injured, transported to hospital, after their bus collides with another vehicle on State Route 222 in Richmond Township.

Nearly two dozen students are being checked out at local hospitals after a school bus crash in eastern Pennsylvania.

The accident was reported shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday on Route 222 in Richmond Township, near Kutztown.

Fleetwood police said the bus was transporting students back to Reading-Muhlenberg Vocational-Technical School after a field trip at the Crayola museum in Easton.
