The family says Miranda Rose, 17, was flying with her mother’s boyfriend, Michael Bronzburg, to South Carolina the day after Christmas. They were going to South Carolina to pick up family to celebrate the holiday. But a half hour into the trip something went wrong and the plane crashed near Gettysburg.

The families of Miranda Rose, 17, and pilot Michael Chester Bronzburg, 46, both of 9 Hollow Road, submitted brief death notices to The (Bloomsburg) Press Enterprise, saying they each died in "a plane crash near Biglerville, Adams County.

At least one person died in the crash of a small plane into a rural south-central Pennsylvania field, state police said.
Police said the crash early Thursday scattered debris over a quarter-mile area north of Gettysburg.
He said the plane was destroyed, but there didn't appear to have been a fire or explosion.
Hicks said neighbors in the Biglerville area heard what sounded like engine trouble and then the noise of the crash at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday.
State police have secured the scene and were waiting for investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board to arrive.
Officials said they had no immediate information about what kind of aircraft was involved or its starting point and intended destination.
