Woman killed after car hits tree in Norvelt

The driver of a Honda Civic was killed in a one-vehicle accident just after noon Monday along Mt. Pleasant Road near Norvelt Pharmacy.

Coroner: Heart attack caused Norvelt crash

A 72-year-old Mt. Pleasant woman who died in an auto accident Monday in Norvelt probably had a heart attack just before the crash, according to the Westmoreland County Coroner's Office.

She was pronounced dead at 12:59 p.m. and her death was determined to be natural.
It's believed that O'Shea had a heart attack immediately preceding the crash. Bystanders found the woman unresponsive after the crash. Fortunately, no pedestrians were along the busy sidewalk at the time of the crash, or more victims could have been involved.
