Kyreakakis continued traveling westbound and passed a tractor-trailer on the left, police said. After passing the tractor-trailer, Kyreakakis veered to the right and crossed both lanes of travel, where his vehicle struck a 2012 Volvo S60 that was parked on the right shoulder.

Peter Kyreakakis, 55, of Hawthorne, New Jersey, was pronounced dead at the scene. Kyreakakis traveled on I-84 westbound and passed a tractor-trailer on the left, police said. After passing the tractor-trailer, Kyreakakis veered to the right and crossed both lanes of travel, where his vehicle struck a 2012 Volvo S60 parked on the right shoulder.
