1st Avenue North near 52nd Place North

At around 9 a.m., a school bus collided with a van on 1st Avenue North near 52nd Place North. The driver of the van had to be extricated from the vehicle. He and a female passenger suffered serious injuries and were taken to the trauma unit at UAB Hospital.
