Keith Stockard of Superior, Montana, was killed Tuesday afternoon after his vehicle was struck by a garbage truck as he attempted to make a U-turn on Highway 44 near Freeman, South Dakota. Stockard was transported to a hospital, where he later died. He was not wearing a seat belt.
The California Highway Patrol confirmed two men and two women were inside a car that crashed Friday night.
The CHP said the driver, 36-year-old Robert Frederick, was traveling at high speeds when he veered off Highway 44 and rolled his car several times.
Traffic was slowed Wednesday morning in Redding after a crash involving five vehicles. The collision happened just before 8 a.m. on westbound Highway 44 near the Park Marina Exit.
