Bridgeport man dies after driving truck into ravine

Haschel said Ince's Ford pick-up truck went off the road on FM 1658 in Bridgeport. It's believed the truck then went airborne off a ledge and landed at the bottom of a dry creek, dropping dozens of feet.

Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman Lonny Haschel said a young man from Bridgeport, who'd been missing since Wednesday, was found dead inside his truck at the bottom of a ravine near Lake Bridgeport Friday.

"There’s been a steady line of people standing on the bridge to see how this did happen," said Bridgeport resident Melvin Bostick. "As to how he could sit down there for three days and no one see him."

DPS identified the victim as Stephen Ince.

Melvin Bostick is a friend of the victim's mother and said she was passing out missing person's flyers Friday when she got the news.

Haschel said Ince's Ford pick-up truck went off the road on FM 1658 in Bridgeport. It's believed the truck then went airborne off a ledge and landed at the bottom of a dry creek, dropping dozens of feet. It remained there until someone spotted the truck Friday.

There is no indication at this point what caused the accident.

"Apparently, he came up in the grass on top of the hill," Bostick said, "and it rained on Wednesday. He's been missing since then... Came down, probably couldn’t stop, went off the cliff here, landed to the other side of the creek."
