Police said one person has died in a head-on crash following a wrong-way driver's trip down U.S. 75. Richardson police were following a wrong-way driver in a silver Nissan Murano who was headed southbound in the northbound lanes of U.S. 75/Central Expressway around 4 a.m. Monday. A short time later, just north of Hall Street in Dallas, the driver of the Murano crashed head-on into a tan Toyota Camry. The driver of the Camry died following the collision. The Dallas County Medical Examiner's office identified the driver as 51-year-old Jose Portillo of Dallas. The driver of the Murano survived the crash and is at an area hospital.
