Galveston Police identified the driver as 49-year-old Kevin Wade Wilson. He was held on $750,000 bond for manslaughter and aggravated assault charges. It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer.

Wilson faces an aggravated assault and a manslaughter charge. Pamela Toupard, who identified herself as Wilson's sister, said Monday that she wants to apologize to the victims' families. She said Wilson's probation for a previous narcotics conviction was to have ended today. She said her brother could have had a seizure while he was driving.
One person has died in Galveston after a pickup truck ran off the road and hit two people standing near a souvenir shop. The Houston Chronicle reports that witnesses told police that shortly after 7 a.m. on Sunday, a pickup truck turned onto Seawall Boulevard, cut across several lanes of traffic and drove onto the sidewalk. Raphael Flajole, 62, of Lake Orion, Michigan died at the scene after being hit as the truck went over the seawall and onto the beach. Police said 48-year-old Shane Sabala was taken to the hospital in stable, but serious condition.Galveston Police identified the driver as 49-year-old Kevin Wade Wilson.
