Man dies after crashing stolen motorcycle on East Freeway.

The inbound lanes of Interstate 10 reopened around 5 a.m. Thursday morning after Houston police closed the East Freeway to investigate a deadly motorcycle crash.

A 31-year-old man who was riding a stolen motorcycle died early Thursday morning in a traffic wreck on Interstate 10 in east Houston.

A 31-year-old man who was riding a stolen motorcycle died early Thursday morning in a traffic wreck on Interstate 10 in east Houston.

Police said the man was riding a red Yamaha YZF motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he slammed into the inside concrete divider. He was thrown from the motorcycle and over the barrier, landing in the inbound lanes of the freeway. Then a vehicle that was traveling in the inbound lanes may have hit him, police said.

Police said the man, whose name has not been released, died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Police said investigators later determined the motorcycle had been stolen in Harris County.
