A woman has been arrested after a hit-and-run traffic crash in southeast Houston that killed three people and injured three others.
Raquel Vasquez-Hernandez, 23, is charged with four counts of failure to stop and render aid in an accident involving death, Houston police said.
Police said Vasquez-Hernandez was driving a white Chrysler 300 at a high rate of speed about 2:25 a.m. Saturday when she struck a blue Chevrolet Cavalier eastbound on the South Loop East frontage road.
Police said the driver of the Chevrolet and two passengers, who are believed to be siblings, died at the scene. The driver was identified on Monday as Allyssa Munoz. The passengers were identified as Brett Suarez and Carlos Cisneros-Zurita.
A female passenger in the Chevrolet was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital. Her condition was not released. Two other male passengers in the Chevrolet were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital. One was in critical condition. The other man had non-life-threatening injuries, but his condition was not released.
Police said Vasquez-Hernandez and her passenger left after the crash.
A person later contacted police and told officers where they could find Vazquez-Hernandez. She was taken into custody at a family member's residence.
