Part of I-35 closed after crash that kills child

A family of 6 was in a van heading north when it somehow lost control and struck a guardrail, officials said. As the driver overcorrected, the van was hit from behind by an 18-wheeler carrying dirt and grass. Then van then spun and hit another car. 

A child dies after family mini-van is struck by 18-wheeler

It was confirmed later, that there was a fatality in this crash as a mini-van with a family of six was struck after losing control of their vehicle. One child is confirmed deceased.   

8-year-old killed in crash with family identified

The 8-year-old girl killed in a crash Monday has been identified as Marel Sanchez, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.
One child was killed in an early morning minivan crash Monday that has shut down the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 on Bexar County's Southwest Side. Three of the four children in the van were flown to University Hospital, where one was pronounced dead, and the other two had life-threatening injuries. The fourth child and the two adults in the car were taken by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. According to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, the cause of the crash may have been driver fatigue.
