According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, 17-year-old Storm Davis McDaniel died Wednesday night after his personal watercraft and a 20-foot boat collided in Panama City Beach.
Storm Davis McDaniel was driving a 2013 Yamaha personal watercraft between 35 mph and 45 mph with a group of other people following him in other watercrafts. James D. Moulder was driving a 20-foot Sea Fox near a campsite in the area.
Four girls on the crew team at Edwin O. Smith High School were riding in a 56-foot rowing shell on Coventry lake when a Sea-Doo watercraft crashed into them. The girls were taken by ambulance to Windham Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which were deemed non-life threatening.
Destiny Paige Knight was involved in an accident between a personal water craft and a boat, causing her to sustain serious injuries. She was taken to Elmore Co. Community Hospital, and was then airlifted to The University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.
