One person was killed in a head-on collision between a pickup and a small tanker truck in Tuscaloosa County on Monday morning, Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue officials confirm.

A head-on collision occured between a tanker truck and a pickup on Highway 69 near mile marker 170, claiming the life of the driver of the pickup. The tanker truck driver was uninjured. Firefighters, EMA and Hazmat crews responded to the scene. Highway 69 was closed for four hours while the scene was cleared, but has since reopened.
