Teen killed, four injured in wreck

Katie-Elizabeth Hope Vann, 15, of Gallion was the passenger in a 2002 Ford Explorer that overturned near the 76 mile marker of Interstate 20/59 in Tuscaloosa County. Vann was not wearing a seat belt and was seriously injured when she was thrown from the SUV. She was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m. Driver Valorie Racheal Eicher, 16, of Alexander City and passengers Mycah Patrick, 14, of Pine Hill, Tristin Eicher, 15, of Newbern and Cody Ballinger, 18, of Newbern, were also hospitalized.
