Car crashes into Calera home during chase by Chilton County cops.

Authorities arrested three people on Tuesday night after a vehicle pursuit that started in Chilton County ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into a home in Calera.

Authorities arrested three people on Tuesday night after a vehicle pursuit that started in Chilton County ended when the suspect vehicle crashed into a home in Calera.

Calera Police Chief Sean Lemley said the crash happened at about 9 p.m. on Tuesday at home on 20th Street. "The vehicle struck a house. There was no injuries involved," Lemley said.

"This was a chase originated by the Chilton County Sheriff's Office. They pursued a vehicle into Calera where the vehicle wrecked," Lemley said. "We just assisted them in apprehending the suspects."

Chilton County Sheriff Kevin Davis confirmed that three individuals were arrested, but he did not know the names of the suspects or their charges.

"It was a vehicle pursuit that started in Chilton County and ended in Shelby County. The vehicle had struck a house," Davis said.

He didn't know other details of the investigation.

Lemley said the investigation belongs to Chilton County. "Our officers arrived right when all that was happening" with the car striking the house, he said.

The car, a four-door sedan, collided with the home but it did not crash through a wall, Lemley said.

"Once they jumped out of the vehicle and started fleeing on foot, our guys assisted in apprehending the three suspects," he said.
