A Calera woman died Wednesday in a crash along Alabama 25 near Columbiana, according to state troopers.

Laura Pool Horton was driving on Alabama 25 at about 11:50 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle and it left the roadway, striking a tree. Horton was killed. A passenger in the car, 21-year-old Jason Stagner, was injured and taken to UAB Hospitalfor treatment. The crash is still under investigation.
