The wreck occurred about 5 p.m. Friday near mile marker 77.
The crash involved two pickup trucks, one a regular-sized truck and the other a larger work truck, according to the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
Two people were taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment, reports show.
Traffic was at a standstill, at one point reaching back to Vance as a helicopter landed to take away the injured.
