2 killed in head-on collision near Jasper

A female passenger in Philips' trucks was transported to UAB with life threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation shows she was wearing a seatbelt, but the two men who died were not.
A two-car crash on Highway 69 near Jasper claimed two lives on Monday night. Alabama State Troopers say 34-year-old Jeremy Philips of Cordova died when the truck he was driving collided head on with another truck around 9:15 p.m. The driver of the other truck, Jeffery Stovers, 50, of Jasper was killed as well. A female passenger in Philips' trucks was transported to UAB with life threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation shows she was wearing a seatbelt, but the two men who died were not. The wreck is still under investigation.
