Alabama State Troopers tell WIAT 42 the victim and his passenger were driving a 2010 Mercury Mariner when his SUV collided with a 2014 Freightliner, ejecting the driver from the vehicle.  This all happened around 1:40 a.m. Saturday along I-20, just outside of Pell City. Troopers tell us the victim’s SUV was then struck a second time, this time by a tractor trailer driven by Allen Nichols of Georgia.

The driver of the Mack tractor-trailer, 63-year-old Allen Nichols, of Georgia, was injured and taken to UAB. Troopers said the crash remains under investigation. A Washington man was killed early Saturday after he collided with an 18-wheeler and his vehicle then was struck by a second 18-wheeler. Troopers said the victim was driving a 2010 Mercury Mariner which collided with a 2014 Freightliner. The crash happened at 1:40 a.m. on Interstate 20 in St. After the collision, the Mercury Mariner was struck by a second 18-wheeler – a 2015 Mac tractor-trailer.

The Mercury Mariner was then struck by a 2015 Mack tractor trailer driven by Allen Nichols, 63, of Gainesville, Ga. State troopers say Hill was driving a 2010 Mercury Mariner which collided with a 2014 Freightliner driven by Sonny Jerome Sweeney, 49, of Bradenton, Fla. Dorron Ross Howard, 31, of Birmingham, who was a passenger in the Mercury Mariner, was injured and transported to UAB Hospital. State troopers are still investigating the crash. Terrence Leonard Hill, Jr., 29, from Pell City, died on Interstate 20 around 1:40 a.m.
