Birmingham woman, 69, killed in crash near Pinson

State troopers say a Birmingham woman was killed and another person when three vehicles wrecked near Pinson on Tuesday. Khoeum Chen, 69, was killed when the 2008 Chevrolet Aveo she was driving collided head-on with a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu, according to state trooper Chuck Daniel. State troopers are still investigating the crash. The wreck happened on Alabama 79 about two miles north of Pinson around 5:15 p.m. Another vehicle was involved in the crash but that driver was not injured.

William Andrew Baty, 53, is charged with criminally negligent homicide, according to court records made public today. The wreck happened July 7, 2015 and Baty was arrested in Jefferson County this week.
