Northport resident Kenneth Dewayne Blanchard was walking on Interstate 59 after getting a flat early Thursday morning. He died when he was hit by a tractor-trailer whose driver fled the scene. The truck is believed to be a dark brown Freightliner Classic with a model year between 1991 and 2002.
