Opelika teen dies in fatal car wreck

The crash happened just before 10:00 p.m. on Lee County 150, about 10 miles east of Opelika. Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate this crash.
An Opelika teenager died and three other people were injured in a car accident in Lee County Friday night. Brent Lowry, 16, was riding in the bed of a 1996 Chevrolet S-10 when the truck exited the road and overturned on Lee County Road 150. Lowry was pronounced dead at the scene. Brandon Scott Carr, 21, was driving the pick up. Carr and two other passengers were taken to the East Alabama Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
