Phenix City, Columbus officials respond to serious accident on JR Allen

Phenix City and Columbus fire units are on the scene of a serious accident involving a single vehicle on JR Allen Parkway Westbound near the Riverchase Drive exit. Fire Marshall Ricky Shores with the Columbus Fire Department says EMS responded to the scene at about 7:45 p.m. Shores says the vehicle traveled through the guardrail and went down a steep embankment for about 150 feet. Officials say they have reached the car and attempting to extract the driver. Details are still limited at this time.
