Unrestrained toddler killed, aunt injured in Shoals rollover crash

Alabama State Troopers are investigating a single-vehicle crash that in Lauderdale County that killed a child from Lebanon, Tennessee. Troopers say a 19-year-old woman was driving her 2-year-old niece on Lauderdale County 7 Thursday night. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say the toddler, Addison Lynn Whitaker, was not restrained and was partially ejected in the crash. Trooper say shortly after 9 p.m., the 2003 Ford Mustang left the road about seven miles south of Florence.

2-year-old killed in traffic accident

Officials said the car was traveling north on Lauderdale 7 when it came out of a curve, ran off the west side of the road, hit a ditch, went airborne, clipped the top of a fence and then flipped several times.

Driver, passenger indicted in June traffic accident that killed 2-year-old

Whitney Whitaker, according to the indictment, hindered prosecution by initially telling authorities she was the driver of the 2003 Ford Mustang. Also, the indictment accuses her of acting recklessly by not securing the child in a car seat.

2-year-old killed in Thursday night wreck

Emergency personnel at the scene said another passenger in the car was not injured.

Tennessee toddler killed in Shoals crash

A single-vehicle crash on Thursday night killed a Lebanon, TN child on Lauderdale County 7, four miles north of Florence.
