Stephanie Lucas Cain dies in high-speed crash into building on Washington Avenue at Tennessee Street in Mobile, Alabama

High speed crash after midnight claims the life of Mobile woman

The contributing factor in this collision was speed, according to police.

Mobile Police investigate Washington Ave. traffic fatality

It is unknown at this time if alcohol and/or drugs played a factor in the crash.  
Just after midnight Thursday, Mobile Police responded to Washington Avenue at Tennessee Street for a report of a car accident. A 2003 BMW driven by Stephanie Lucas Cain of Mobile was traveling north on Washington Avenue at a high rate of speed she lost control and collided with a building, ending up against a utility pole. Cain was transported to USA Medical Center, where she later died. A 21-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries.
