Elmore co. man dies in single-vehicle crash

Alabama Law Enforcement Agency officials say a single-vehicle crash on Thursday has claimed the life of an Elmore county man. According to state troopers the crash happened around 9:10 p.m. on Alabama 9 at the 130 mile marker, five miles north of Wetumpka. James Matthew Spivey, 42, was killed when the 2006 Scion XA he was driving left the roadway and struck several trees. Spivey, who was not using his seat belt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. No other information about the crash is available as troopers continue to investigate.
