“I was to the understanding there were five to seven people inside and I don't know if they had any warning to get out at the time but we transported one with an injured leg, it wasn't very serious and we did have reports that a child was taken to the hospital from the scene before our arrival,” said Montgomery Fire Department District Fire Chief Eric Norton.

Daniels faces a murder charge for the boy's death and an attempted murder charge. Prosecutors say he intentionally drove an SUV toward the apartment to harm another man.

According to Montgomery police, an SUV crashed through the wall of an apartment at the Plaza at Centennial Hill Apartments, located on Centennial Way. The child, whose age and name are not known, was airlifted to Children's Hospital in Birmingham.
