A 76-year-old pilot is expected to recover after he was injured in a crash at Wetumpka Municipal Airport.
Pilot, 76, hurt in Wetumpka plane crash
A 76-year-old Millbrook man received non-life threatening injuries when the plane he was piloting crashed Friday evening at the Wetumpka Municipal Airport, said Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin.
Dan Power was trying to land a plane around 7:30 p.m. at the Wetumpka Municipal Airport when the aircraft clipped several trees and crashed upside down short of the runway. Power was the only person in the plane at the time of the crash and suffered non-life threatening injuries. He is expected to recover. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
