TROOPERS: 1 dead, 1 seriously injured in snowmachine crash Saturday night

One man is dead and another seriously injured in a snowmachine crash Saturday night, Alaska State Troopers wrote in a press dispatch Sunday. Troopers from the Emmonak trooper post were notified at about 9:25 p.m. Saturday that 32-year-old Simeon Duny of Alakanuk was killed in the crash. 25-year-old Dan Augline of Emmonak was seriously injured. "Augline will be transported to YKHC in Bethel for treatment and Duny's remains are being sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy," troopers wrote. Officials are conducting a criminal investigation into the crash and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
