A Juneau driver fleeing from police at high speed was arrested after a crash in front of Juneau-Douglas High School.

Police chase results in hit-and-run

According to police, Jose Angel Munoz, 42, was fleeing police at a high rate of speed on Behrends Avenue, and failed to negotiate a left turn onto Glacier Avenue and stuck a car driven by an 82-year-old Douglas woman. The woman was uninjured. Munoz was captured by police after he fled the scene on foot.
Jose Angel Munoz was fleeing from the police when he collided with an 82-year-old driver in front of a high school in Juneau. Munoz was wanted for drug and felony DUI charges, and was spotted by an officer who tried to stop him. Munoz was traveling at high speed when he struck the woman's car in front of the school. Fortunately she was not injured, and Munoz was arrested.
