Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Higley and Queen Creek roads in Gilbert after 6:30 a.m. Monday where a dump truck was involved in a wreck with a pickup and a sedan.
Two patients were seriously injured and were flown to hospitals because they needed immediate medical attention, according to the Gilbert Fire Department, and three other people injured in the wreck were going to be driven to hospitals.
Helicopter footage of the scene showed paramedics removing people from a white sedan in the northbound lanes of Higley, just north of the intersection with Queen Creek.
