Sutterfield was critically injured when the vehicle she was driving left the roadway at 6:31 a.m. Sunday and struck a utility pole in the area of Patsy Drive and John L Avenue.

27-year-old Sylvia Nicole Sutterfield died at University Medical Center in Las Vegas on Monday after the vehicle she was driving struck a utility pole. Carter said the vehicle was traveling at a slow speed and that Sutterfield was not wearing a seat belt.
