Hours separate deadly Arizona plane crashes

The Federal Aviation Administration says it is unsure of the flight plan for the single-engine Cessna that sparked a small fire when it crashed around 3 p.m. Sunday. Firefighters were on scene Monday working to extinguish the fire.
Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a small plane to crash in Mohave County, killing two brothers on board. Mohave County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Trish Carter said the pilot, Daulton Rey Whatcott, 19, was flying with his brother, Jaxon McKee Whatcott, 16, from Bountiful, UT to Mesquite, NV. The 1969 Cessna 172k fixed-wing single engine went down about 150 feet south of Interstate 15 in Littlefield, near the Utah border about 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Deputies confirmed the brothers did not survive the crash. They're from Clinton City, UT. No one else was onboard. Both the FAA and the NTSB are investigating.
