The pilot was killed when an experimental ultralight plane crashed Sunday evening between Casa Grande and Maricopa

The pilot was killed when an experimental ultralight plane crashed Sunday evening between Casa Grande and Maricopa.

The Federal Aviation Administration said the crash happened about 6 p.m. at Ak-Chin Regional Airport.

Gregor said the Sabrena Dragonfly crashed under unknown circumstances. The pilot was the only person on board.

The National Transportation Safety Board will lead an investigation that will include the FAA, Gregor said.

The pilot's identity was not released.
