A 54-year-old man was killed after an SUV rear-ended his car and forced the man's vehicle into the back of a flatbed tow truck, forcing authorities to close Interstate 10 in Phoenix Sunday night.
A suspected drunken driver has been arrested in connection with a crash that killed a Mesa man. 41-year-old Rabit Sergio Brenes Popoca is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder, criminal damage and endangerment. His bond was set at $100,000. Popoca allegedly was speeding when he rear-ended a vehicle Sunday night on Interstate 10, killing the driver identified as 54-year-old David Marc Eichner. Authorities say Popoca had been drinking at a soccer game in Glendale before the crash.
