Victims in confined-space rescue identified; 1 dead, 2 critical

Crews suited up in special gear, including breathing apparatus, to extricate the victims.

They were taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition. 

Tryon later died. Both Garcia and Silaghi, 34, remain in critical condition.

2nd man dead after falling into underground storage area

The Phoenix Fire Department confirmed on Tuesday a second man has died after falling into an underground storage unit. While all three men have been identified, fire crews didn't say which man had died.

“Dr. Tryon was not only our friend and neighbor but most of us considered him family,” said Catherine Gottschalk, a neighbor and client of Dr. Tryon’s for the last five years.

"You are not only losing your veterinarian and neighbor, we are losing a friend and family member. I think people are taking it really, really hard," she said.

 

Many of Tryon's clients and friends are planning a vigil for him at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Third man found unconscious in grain bin has died

The third man found unconscious in a Phoenix grain bin earlier this week has died.

The Arizona American Saddlebred rescue says Juan Pablo Garcia died Friday.

Garcia was an assistant to beloved equine veterinarian Dr. William Tryon.

This information is incorrect.  This did not occur at the Arizona Saddlebred Rescue, but rather at Dr. Tryon's home which also served as the office for his veterinary business.
