DPS identifies pedestrians struck by car in Scottsdale

A man was killed and his wife injured after being hit by an SUV Wednesday while walking in a crosswalk near Loop 101 and Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale. A 29-year-old driver had exited Loop 101 and was turning right onto westbound Shea Boulevard when his vehicle hit Jack Leland Sherman, 81, and Joyce Ann Sherman, 78. The Shermans are from Vancouver, Washington State. They were transported to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center where Jack Leland Sherman was pronounced deceased. Joyce Ann Sherman, 78, was listed in serious condition Wednesday afternoon.
