UPDATE: One person dead, another injured after being hit by train

The female victim was transported to Banner-University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. 

Teen killed by train was Tanque Verde High student

School boosters and district officials on Sunday have asked that the boy’s name not be released until Monday morning when they can tell students directly in an assembly. They said they want to have options for grief counseling in place on campus.

Extra counselors will also be on campus throughout the week to help students and staff grieve.

As students arrived Monday – many stopped at this memorial in front of the school.

Nowacki-Hubble said she would like to use her son's tragedy to push for improved safety measures along the railroad tracks where he was killed.
