Police say preliminary information indicates that the two people killed were in a vehicle preparing to make a turn when it was rear-ended by another vehicle.

At around 3:42 p.m., Festerling and Garcia were traveling northbound on Shannon when they were rear-ended. That pushed their car into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
