Tucson PD release identity of pedestrian killed in downtown hit and run
Robert Plata, 64, was struck by a vehicle on West Congress Street and North Church Avenue, according to Tucson police. Officers from the Downtown District arrived on scene shortly before 3 p.m. and found the Tucson Fire Department treating Plata in the road in front of a Sun Link stop.
He had obvious signs of trauma and was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. According to the TPD, Plata died from his injuries on Monday, April 2.
