According to authorities, a Toyota Corolla went off the roadway for an unknown reason and struck the pole. Police say 24-year-old Diana Torres and 41-year-old Miriam Ramos were killed. One was pronounced dead at the scene and the other at Yuma Regional Medical Center. The driver, 25-year-old Mayra Ramirez, has been hospitalized with minor injuries. Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash but the incident remains under investigation.
