Jonesboro woman dies 3 days after head-on crash

Officer Ross Rogan stated in his report that “Mrs. Barnett was coherent, talking plainly, and did not appear to have life threatening injuries.” She and the others were taken to local hospitals for treatment.

Barbara Bennett and her husband, 81-year-old Verlan Barnett, were driving near the Marion Berry Parkway Interserction when they were struck head on by a driver who crossed the centerline. At the time, Bennett did not appear to have life threatening injuries but was taken to a local hospital for treatment along with the others involved in the crash. Three days later she died of her injuries. No one else in the accident was seriously hurt.
