Chico man charged in fatal Nord Avenue crash
Chico police have accused Dawson of fatally striking 20-year-old Maria Flores with his car and leaving the scene about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday on Nord Avenue, near West Sacramento Avenue in Chico.
The police have said Flores was walking home with her friends when a car drove up onto and sidewalk, hit Flores and drove off. Flores was pronounced dead at the scene.
