3 women injured, taken to hospital, after a car and 3 SUV's and one other vehicle collide on westbound Highway 44 in Redding.

Traffic was slowed Wednesday morning in Redding after a crash involving five vehicles. The collision happened just before 8 a.m. on westbound Highway 44 near the Park Marina Exit.

There were at least 3 SUVs and one car involved in the wreck. Three females were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Highway 44 was backed up to Interstate 5. Eastbound traffic was also slowed due to emergency vehicles at the scene. CALTRANS used a signboard to alert drivers on Interstate 5 of the traffic hazard.
