TEEN GIRL KILLED IN MADERA COUNTY HEAD-ON CRASH IDENTIFIED

Grief counselors visited two Mariposa County school campuses on Monday after a deadly head-on crash this weekend. 
On Saturday, March 14, a 70-year-old Los Banos man was driving a Toyota Tundra with his wife in the passenger seat, when he crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 41 near Avenue 12 and struck a Toyota Corolla. A backseat passenger in the Corolla, Kayla Choi, 13, was killed. Choi had most recently been a student at Woodland Elementary, although she was no longer in the district. Another passenger in the Corolla, Christina Jarrett, 19, a graduate of Mariposa County High School, had to be extricated with major injuries. The 48-year-old driver of the Corolla also suffered major injuries. The man and woman in the Tundra suffered mild to moderate injuries.
