2 dead after driver of stolen pickup crashes in California

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) Authorities say two people were killed and a third seriously injured in a collision caused when the driver of a stolen pickup broadsided two cars. The driver of the stolen pickup, identified as 19-year-old Mitchell Kauffman, of Fresno, had moderate injuries. Authorities say Kauffman will face multiple felony charges. Both Kaufman and the driver of a BMW that was hit were airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center. When officers attempted to stop the driver early Tuesday, he didn't yield, triggering the chase on southbound Highway 41.

Two killed in collision near Lemoore

CHP spokesman Adam Barresi said officers received reports around 8:15 a.m. of a reckless driver near State Route 180 and Highway 41 in Fresno. Officers located a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado that had been reported stolen out of Fresno.

Prayers and thoughts for young naval aviator injured in fatal crash near Lemoore

The Naval aviator, 29-year-old William Marshall, who friends refer to as “Buddy” was driving a BMW when the crash occurred at Grangeville Blvd. near Lemoore. His vehicle was struck by a truck being driven by 19-year-old Mitchell Kauffman of Fresno. Marshall was seriously injured and airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. He was listed in critical condition as of Friday afternoon.
