The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Olin and the patrol car were traveling in the same direction on Mulholland Highway in suburban Calabasas when the collision occurred.

Lawyer and music industry veteran Milton Everett Olin Jr. of Woodland Hills died Sunday, according to the L.A. coroner’s office.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Olin and the patrol car were traveling in the same direction on Mulholland Highway in suburban Calabasas when the collision occurred.

The cyclist was in the bicycle lane when he was struck, said investigators. He landed on the windshield, shattering the glass before rolling off the cruiser to the street.

The deputy, who was not named, was taken to a hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.

According to Los Angeles police officials, Alcaraz, a Marine Corps veteran, had been a patrol officer for 18 months. He had just finished his one-year probationary period at the Southwest Community Police Station on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and Sunday would have been his first day assigned to the West Los Angeles area.

LAPD Police Chief Charlie Beck said in a statement, “The entire LAPD is grieving the loss of a young officer killed in an off-duty traffic collision. Our hearts go out to the family, friends and co-workers of this fine officer during this difficult time.”

A cyclist was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.

Police are looking for a hit-and-a-run driver that killed a bicyclist in South Los Angeles Wednesday night.

The cyclist was struck around 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of South Normandie Avenue and West 47th Street, according the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he later died.

Police are looking for a vehicle described as either a red Toyota Corolla or a burgundy Pontiac, LAPD said.

Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who fatally struck a man on a bicycle in downtown Los Angeles Sunday.

The incident occurred on Alameda Street near the westbound 10 Freeway off-ramp around 2 a.m.

CHP responded to a pedestrian down call and found a body in the No. 2 lane of the off-ramp with no vehicle in sight.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as a man in his early 30's.

No description of the fleeing vehicle was released.

According to Mississippi Highway Patrol, around 12:30pm, there was a two vehicle accident on Hwy 3.

It happened south of Yazoo City in Yazoo County.

A 2004 Buick Century driven by Milton Richardson Jr., age 44, from Yazoo City was traveling northbound on Hwy 3. Mr. Richardson Jr. crossed over into the southbound lane and struck a 18 wheeler log truck head on. Mr. Richardson Jr. was killed on scene.

Two men were riding the same bicycle on West Slauson Avenue in the Vermont-Slauson neighborhood of Los Angeles when they were struck by a black Camaro that ran a red light. The riders were taken to a hospital and treated for broken limbs, head injuries, and internal injuries. Their identities have not yet been released.

A 50-year-old woman was killed by a bus in South Los Angeles Saturday morning while riding her bike, which authorities said was stolen after she was struck.

Authorities responded to reports of a bus colliding with a pedestrian around 8:30 a.m. in the 5700 block of South Figueroa, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Shortly after the crash, someone stole the woman’s bike, officials said.

The woman reportedly lived in the area.
